Dishwasher is not heating up water / Cold after end of cycle / Dishes not clean / No steam or cold when door opens

Issue

  • Dishwasher is not heating up water.

Applies to

  • Integrated dishwasher
  • Freestanding dishwasher

Resolution

If your dishwasher does not heat up and it is cold at the end of the cycle, please first check the below: 

  • Have you have used a cold wash
    • Check your cycle choice is over 30 degrees
  • Reset your appliance
    • Remove the plug for the dishwasher, wait 1 minute and plug it back in
    • You can also turn off the power using the fuses on the panel/power switch
  • Clear filters and spray arms of any obstruction (see below)
  • Start an intensive cycle and check if the machine is warm inside when the cycle ends
  • If the cycle starts and operates normally, the problem has been resolved

If your dishes are not clean after the cycle, please check the solutions below:

 Internal cleaning

  • Carefully clean the appliance, including the rubber gasket of the door, with a soft damp cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive products, abrasive cleaning pads, sharp tools, strong chemicals, scourer or solvents.
  • To maintain the performance of your appliance, use a cleaning product designed specifically for dishwashers at least once every two months.
  • Clean the filters- refer to user manual for your dishwasher’s instructions

 Cleaning the upper spray arm

  1. Pull out the upper basket.
  2. To detach the spray arm from the basket, press the spray arm upwards and simultaneously turn it clockwise. 
  3. Wash the spray arm under running water. 
  4. Use a thin pointed tool, e.g. a toothpick, to remove particles of soil from the holes. 
  5. To install the spray arm back, press the spray arm upwards and simultaneously turn it anti-clockwise until it locks into place.

Cleaning the lower spray arm

  1. To remove the lower spray arm, pull it upwards.
  2.  Wash the spray arm under running water. 
  3. Use a thin pointed tool, e.g. toothpick, to remove particles of soil from the holes. 
  4. To install the spray arm back, press it downwards.

Other options to try...

  • Use more intensive washing programme.
  • Activate the ExtraPower option (if available) to improve the washing results of a selected programme.
