I chose a new AEG washing machine because my previous one had been recommended by a friend who had always bought AEG washing machines and they had served her well for over 20 years before needing to be replaced. She also recommended buying a simple version that had a knob to turn rather than anything ‘all singing/all dancing’- less to go wrong!’
I did as she advised and my first AEG washer did indeed serve me well for 25yrs! Therefore I naturally wanted to purchase another AEG washer, when it finally ‘kicked the bucket’ and the ‘spin‘ would ‘spin‘ no more.
My husband did some research and insisted I look at other makes of machine, but I stuck to my guns and we bought a modest new model from the 6000 lavamat series, believing it to be the best choice of AEG washing machine for our purposes. I have used the machine for aoproximately a month now.
I love the 20min washing programme.
However, the other programmes (particularly for my ‘whites’ are sooooooo long, even with the ’eco’ option on ☹️.
Thus making the ECO option not very ECO efficient!
Much preferred my old knob dialling model, which I am sure didn’t take anywhere near as long to do a wash load .
I’d definitely advise looking at wash times before purchasing! particularly if looking for a more eco friendly version to your previous machine. Don’t just assume that a new version will provide this.
I certainly will if I have the need to purchase another in the future.
