This is not a review of my AEG washing machine as I am very happy with it. This is a review of the incredibly poor repair service provided by the Company. I have a 5 year guarantee, and this is my second breakdown. Sadly it is a carbon copy of the previous appalling experience I had when trying to arrange a repair. I phoned AEG on the 18th March to report a problem and after 18 minutes on hold I got an answer and was given an appointment date of today the 26th March 2021. This morning I phoned what I was told was the contractor to check timings for their visit and found that the contractor, 0800 Repairs, is also known as Pacifica. They knew about my machine and said that they had passed the job onto a local contractor. I then called the allocated contractor who said that while he knew about my machine he had no idea that AEG has allocated a repair date. As a result of my call he has now ordered the parts, but I will probably have to wait at least a week for a repair. Why does AEG arrange a misleading date for repair? - I was told the date is arranged to get us off the phone! The previous excellent contractor who fixed my machine the last time has given up working for Pacifica because of the same lack of communication. I wonder how long the replacement contractor will last? This whole system is complex, complicated and quite bonkers. It absolutely fails to provide a clear, logical repair response for its otherwise quite excellent equipment. Such a big company needs to review its customer response service, but we will not be buying an AEG next time.
