We took delivery of this 2 days before Christmas... Bit of a risk but we were not disappointed. It was installed with ease and goes nicely with our existing Bosch microwave combi oven (which we are likely now to replace with the AEG version to match).
We spent time looking through the manual, which probably is a bit over complicated, but we'd complain if some of the detail was missing. It details lots of different settings to cook various food on. We tend to be a "set it to 180 fan" for general cooking, so it was great to see how some food stuffs cook better using the different settings.
The first thing I noticed was how bright the light is inside compared to our previous oven, I appreciate the glass door is brand new and clean but there was a noticable difference.
The main test was how it performed with Yorkshire Puddings... My yorkshire husband is known as YP King so we couldn't let a new oven steal his crown. Well it did not disappoint!! Amazing YP's, great height, and we should have raised the top shelf to the top as they rose so high they touched the top shelf.
Then comes Christmas Day, next big test, can it cook our rediculously large turkey? (due to covid we had no-one to share this with but still went with it!) . We decided to use the temperature probe for this test. We didn't use it whilst the turkey was wrapped in foil, but used it towards the end of cooking, and it timed the cooking perfectly. Our turkey this year was without doubt THE nicest we've ever had - it was moist , succulent, crispy on outside — and properly cooked.
The only thing I didn't like was that once the meat reaches the temperature, the oven turns off. Would be better to be able to choose what happens, or even just sounds an alarm at that point. We had all sorts still to roast at that point!
We generally cook from scratch most meal times so oven and hob take a battering. The oven is simple to use, and has great features. The grill worked nicely too.
My husband has also baked some lovely hogies (bread rolls) using the oven to help the prooving as well as the baking.
We use distilled water rather than tap water in the bottom water cavity as we'd read you don't get the white powdery water marks. We've only used this once, and no sign of any marks.
We've not used the self clean function yet, but it looks to be very straight forward. Its been easy to wipe around so far.
I love how you can monitor how the oven heats and cools down on the control panel too.
It's a little quieter than our old oven too, but it wasn't an issue for us previously.
I would definitely recommend this oven as both an all round family oven, but also for those who want to bake more technical foods.
Absolute accuracy, every time
The clean glass display with touch buttons gives you even more control over your cooking. The timer is activated by entering start/stop through the LCD screen. Meaning you can expect absolute accuracy - even if you momentarily step away from your oven.
