Everything about this DW looked good when we ordered it online and to be fair it cleans much better than our old machine. However, we should have checked it out instore somewhere before we bought. The main problems we have experienced have been with the upper basket.
First, the upper basket does not close properly almost every time. It is designed to pivot on a single point on each side and is not guided at the back, so it rocks from front to back depending on the weight distribution which changes through the day as you load it up. This means that almost every time you close it, it doesn't line up with the internal water pipe at the back unless you push down on the front of the drawer each time. This is a real annoyance which could easily be resolved with a better design.
Second, you have to be extremely careful how you place utensils on the cup support (BTW, you only get one on the left side) as the side of the upper basket doesn't extend above the support. Maybe it has been designed so it can also be used with a DW that has a cutlery drawer, but it means that if you accidentally knock the upper basket as we have done many times when loading (remember the front/back rocking), any cups or utensils on this support can easily fall to the floor. This has happened for us several times, including with large kitchen knives - thankfully, no hospital trips were needed.
Third, when stacking tall or heavy-bottomed glasses in the upper basket, they need to be wedged between mugs to stop them falling over due to the way the basket rocks.
To summarise, this is a really good machine, which is badly let down by a terrible design for the upper basket.
