We purchased after our last AEG dishwasher broke down and the parts were more expensive than the replacement. We stayed loyal to the brand of AEG as have also been happy with the quality and performance, however this latest dishwasher is poor in both build quality and performance. As a feature the door opens at the end of the programme to aid the drying, in short it doesn’t. The glasses still have water on them. Another bad feature that a normal size dinner plate rubs on the door seal when you push the lower basket in. Poor all round and for the money wish we had chosen a different brand.
Hello, thank you for your review and your repeat custom. It's unfortunate to read that you're disappointed with some aspects of your new dishwasher. Regarding the AirDry feature, it very much aids the drying and can mean some drying is still required, particularly where the design of glasses and crockery can cause pooling of water. Longer programmes also have longer times where the door is required to remain open. The dishes will not be dry immediately after the door opens, it requires time to allow the cool air in and let the hot air out. Sitting the glasses at an angle while using the specially designed long stem grips should also help. Of course, should you wish to deactivate the AirDry feature, this is also possible and we have a guide on the AEG website to help.
We try to accommodate as many crockery sizes as possible in our XXL capacity models. Standard sized plates are able to fit with our variety of stacking positions, however I will of course pass on your comments to our design team. Thank you again for your review, it really does matter to us.
