The designer needs to actually try using it. I reckon they designed it for the kids toy tea set.
Things like side plates and bowls that fitted nicely on the top crockery shelf of my old AEG don't fit anymore. Even worse, now there's is only 1 support peg so the things that do fit just tip over. The fold down glass supports are stupid. The shallow slots don't hold anything in place. The deep slots are OK but for some reason there are a lot fewer than the shallow ones. Why on earth didn't the designer just make them all deep or at least 50:50.
Oh and why did AEG put enormous plastic pictures of the control panel and the cutlery draw in the machine. Come on - think about the planet.
On the plus side ... it seems to clean what I can get in and it didn't breakdown on the first day
