Experience control with AEG induction hobs

AEG induction hobs are designed to be easy to clean and maintain. Induction technology transfers heat directly to compatible cookware rather than heating the hob surface in the same way as traditional electric and gas hobs, helping reduce the chance of spills burning onto the surface.

Selected AEG hobs can detect when water is close to boiling and automatically adjust the heat to help maintain a gentle simmer, reducing the need for constant monitoring.

AEG SaphirMatt® induction hobs feature a scratch-resistant matt black surface designed to help keep the hob looking good for longer. Tests show up to four times fewer scratches from pots and pans compared with standard glass hob surfaces.* The matt finish also helps reduce the appearance of fingerprints and stains.

Induction Hob FAQ

Cookware with a magnetic base works on an induction hob, including cast iron, carbon steel and some types of stainless steel. Look for the induction symbol on the base or packaging, or test the base with a magnet. Aluminium, copper, glass and ceramic cookware will not usually work unless they have a magnetic induction-ready base.
An induction hob uses copper coils beneath the glass surface to create a magnetic field. When compatible cookware is placed on the hob, the magnetic field generates heat directly in the pan’s base, helping deliver fast and responsive cooking.
Yes. Cast iron is generally suitable for AEG induction hobs because it is magnetic. For best results, use cookware with a flat base and follow the hob and cookware instructions.
If the cookware is not induction-compatible, the hob will usually not heat the pot. Induction cooking relies on magnetic cookware, so the pan needs a magnetic, flat base to work effectively.
