Roast Chicken

With our easy recipe and Food Sensor, you’ll never have to wonder how long to roast a chicken again. Make Sundays great with the perfect roast and show your guests how to roast a chicken the AEG way.

Ingredients

•1.5 – 1.9kg whole chicken

•Salt and pepper

•Olive oil

•Thyme

•1 lemon

•1 onion

Method

Preparation time: 5 mins

Cooking time: approx 80-100 mins, 30 minutes resting time

Serves approx 4

1. Drizzle olive oil over the chicken and season with salt, pepper and lemon zest

2. Peel the onion and cut the lemon and onion into quarters 

3. Stuff the chicken with a few sprigs of thyme and the onion and lemon quarters 

4. Set the oven to Low Humidity at 175°C. Place the Food Sensor into the thickest part of the chicken breast and plug into the oven. Set the Food Sensor to 74°C

Chef Tip: Take the wish bone out before you cook to make the breast easier to carve
